Bankfield Museum is a Grade II listed historic-house museum, which incorporates a textiles gallery and regimental museum.
The extravagant Victorian mansion is set in the attractive surroundings of Akroyd Park, at the centre of a model-village conservation area. The Museum's displays cover local history, costume, textiles, art, toys and military history. It frequently hosts exhibitions of costume, textile art, embroidery and quilting. It's a perfect location for Tapestry of the North. Free parking is available, and there are good public transport links. There's a small café on the ground floor.
